Scholarships: David R. Brinkley, Maryland State Senator.

Republican, District 4, Frederick and Carroll Counties.

Dear Student:
Each year I assemble a scholarship commission to award scholarships to students living in District 4 who are attending institutions of higher education here in Maryland. Whether you have lived here your entire life or have just moved here, our secondary education system is second to none! Applications are accepted from January 1 to April 25 each year.

Below is the link to the application. My scholarships are very competitive and provided to residents that are continuing their education in a program approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission. Courses not offered by Maryland schools that are “Unique Majors” are eligible for the Senatorial Scholarship.

Also please remember to file your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by their March 1st deadline, even if you do not feel you qualify for federal monies. Senatorial Scholarship applicants must have filed a FAFSA to be considered.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your application is complete and received in my office before the deadline date. Applications must be postmarked by April 25th. Please mail them to my Annapolis office.
